Story Factors:
Odd Habits: Vashans do not eat until absolutely necessary. When they finally do, they messily consume large quantities of food, which is stored in their many antestomachs. These antestomachs are also used to "investigate" new and interesting objects, which the Vashans swallow. Swallowed items are either regurgitated immediately, or retained for further study. Vashan eating habits have resulted in a general disdain for the species within the food service industry of the Modell sector, and many restaurants do not allow for Vashan customers.
Society: Vashan society is both theocratic and caste-based. As such, entire castes will typically obey their religious superiors.

Miscellaneous Rules –

Rokna Blue (SWG#9, sidebar, page 28)
These blue-tinted pebbles, which are derived from a fungus native to Endor, are used as a narcotic all throughout the Modell sector. The drug gives a brief (5D minutes) feeling of euphoria, which is followed b a loss of memory and a craving for more of the drug. When a character takes a dose must make a Moderate Willpower skill check. Failure means that he loses 1 pip from his Knowledge, Perception, or Technical scores (choose which attribute randomly), and the character is driven to find another dose. Each subsequent dose past the first requires a Very Difficult Willpower skill check, or further attribute points will be lost in the same manner. Up to 6 pips/2D can be lost from any single attribute. If untreated for more than a week, this damage is permanent. The condition can be reversed, but requires either long-term medical care (Moderate difficulty Medicine (A) skill roll per point recovered) or the use of the Accelerate Another's Healing Force power (which requires a Difficult Alter skill roll per point recovered).

Senoti (SWG#9, page 30)
Senoti extract is a powerful fever reducer and pain reliever. Applying a dose to a character who has been wounded (or worse) will reduce the effects of his condition by one grade, though it will not actually heal the damage. An Easy First Aid skill roll is required.

Perosa (SWG#9, page 31 and 32)
The perosa tree has a myriad of uses. The tree's soft outer bark can be cooked and eaten (though it has very little nutritional value), or fashioned into soft armor (+1 pip bonus to Strength rolls made to resist physical damage). The sap of the tree acts as a strong adhesive, and is used to stabilize and seal Ewok buildings. Objects bound with perosa sap require a Very Difficult Strength check to separate. Members of both the Kel Dor and Gand species show allergies to perosa, and any who come into contact with the sap must remove it with 1D minutes, or suffer 5D of poison damage.

Fgir (SWG#9, page 31 and 32)
Fgir roots, being hollow, shoot poisonous needles if the air within the roots is compressed by footsteps. Needles can be projected within a 20 meter radius of the tree, and make an attack roll of 3D when fired. If struck, a character must succeed at a Moderate Strength check, or be paralyzed for 2D hours. These roots are sometime harvested by Ewoks and used a blowguns. The moisture in the roots, which is weaker than the poison on the needles, acts as an effective anaesthetic. Fgir root has no effect against Aqualish, Mon Calamari, Quarren, and Priapulins.

Kata-wata (SWG#9, page 31 and 32)
Extract from the kata-wata fern protects against infection and helps to staunch the flow of blood. If applied to a wound, it doubles the normal rate of healing. Barabel are unaffected by kata-wata extract.

Dark Side Stain (SWG#9, page 36)
When Force-sensitive beings enter the vicinity of the second Death Star, they have a 1 in 6 chance they'll pass through an area affected by the Dark Side Stain. This forces such characters to make a Moderate Strength check. Failure means that they are knocked unconscious for 2D minutes, and suffer 2D+1 points of damage.

Thakwaash (SWG#9, sidebar, page 53)

MECHANICAL 1D/3D+2
PERCEPTION 1D/3D+1
STRENGTH 3D/5D+1
TECHNICAL 1D/4D
Special Abilities:
Multiple Personalities: Prior to making a skill check, a Thakwaash character can attempt to draw upon on of his secondary personality's experience as a free action. This is done by making a Willpower skill roll, with a difficulty equal to the number of dice in the character's skill rating times three. For example, a Thakwaash character with a Space Transports skill rating of 4D+1 will need to roll a 12 or better (4x3) on his Willpower skill roll to draw upon a secondary personality's talents in that skill. If successful, the character gains a +2D bonus to that skill, but suffers a –1D penalty to all other skills. This lasts until the character attempts to call upon another personality, is stunned or knocked unconscious, or after one hour of rest or light activity.

Notes: Belt-Runner I may project its shields up to several hundred kilometers away from itself, in order to protect other ships. The station's shield dice must be assigned, with modifiers for scale added in, with as much as 7D of capital-scale shields being applied to any one vessel. Any left-over shield dice remain and provide protection to the station. As an example, assigning 1D of the station's shield dice to protect a TIE fighter equates to 7D of starfighter-scale shields, which must be split between the fighter's fire arcs.

Nosaurians (SWG#9, pages 85-86)

DEXTERITY 2D/4D+1
KNOWLEDGE 1D/4D
MECHANICAL 2D/4D+1
PERCEPTION 1D/3D+2
STRENGTH 1D/3D+2
TECHNICAL 1D/4D
Special Abilities:
Horns: Nosaurians possess six horns on the tops of their heads that they can employ as weapons. Goring an opponent with these horns inflicts the Nosaurian's Strength +1 in damage.
Internal Clock: Nosaurians attuned to the planet they are living on instinctively know when the sun is setting. They usually accompany the setting sun by braying at the top of their lungs. This is largely involuntary, and any Nosaurian wishing to resist the urge to "sing it [the sun] down" must succeed at a Very Difficult Willpower skill roll.
Story Factors:
Color Blind: Nosaurians only see in black and white. While they are not typically effected by this, they may have difficulty interpreting color-coded computer displays or vehicle controls that they are unfamiliar with.
Phosphorescent Mouth Lining: A Nosaurian can make the lining of his mouth phosphorescent at will. Although many animals on New Plympto use similar abilities to attract prey, it grants no appreciable bonus to Nosaurian characters.
Resentful of Humans: Nosaurians blame Republic politicians (and humans in general) for financial problems suffered on their homeworld of New Plympto. These feelings were further compounded by a heavy-handed Imperial subjugation of their planet.

Special Ops: The Battle Empath (SWG#9, page 92)

Sense Powers –

Force Shot (SWG#9, sidebar, page 92)
Sense Difficulty
: Moderate
This power may be kept up.
Required Powers: Life Detection, Life Sense, Sense Force.
Warning: Anyone who uses this power to harm a helpless character receives a Dark Side Point.
Effect
: This power is used to increase a character's accuracy with missile weapons against hidden or concealed targets. If successful, the Force-user may add his Sense dice to his ranged attack rolls against an organic/living target that is either fully or partially concealed, be it behind a wall, through smoke, or in darkness or shadow. At least some portion of the target must be concealed by some degree of cover to be effective. This power is called on at the start of a battle, and remains "up" until the Jedi is stunned, wounded, or worse. Any Jedi who has been stunned or wounded may attempt to activate the power again.

Guided Attack (SWG#9, sidebar, page 92)
Sense Difficulty
: Target's Control or Perception roll
This power may be kept up.
Required Powers: Combat Sense, Farseeing, Life Detection, Sense Force.
Warning: Anyone who uses this power to harm a helpless character receives a Dark Side Point.
Effect
: By successfully using this power and studying a single opponent for two full rounds, a character can anticipate that opponent's reactions in combat. This effectively reduces the opponent's defense dice rolls made to evade the character's attacks by half for the duration of the combat, or until the character using this power is stunned, wounded, or worse.

Notes: The Delta-7 requires a separate hyperdrive module in the form of a booster ring (the TransGalMeg Industries hyperdrive booster ring). Docking with the ring takes 3 rounds to accomplish, and requires a Difficult Starfighter Piloting skill check (the fighter's maneuverability counts for this roll). Additionally, the Delta-7 incorporates a specially-designed astromech droid (R4-P series), which is hardwired into the starfighter. Without the proper droid, the pilot suffers a -1D penalty to his Astrogation skill checks. The droid suffers the same penalty to both its Astrogate and Starfighter Repair skill checks.
