Cerberus Sector Vehicles

Modes of transport within Cerberus Sector are similar to those used in other parts of the galaxy. This being said, it is also true that the wide variety of worlds in the sector has given birth to unique modes of conveyance. From the fuel-powered automobiles of Travis, the tracked survey vehicles of Trisep, or the repulsorfoils of Vale, any number of interesting vehicles can be found moving across the surfaces of the sector's worlds.

Landspeeders –

Landspeeders are, by far, the most common mode of ground transport in the Cerberus sector. Although rare on Travis, where they are only used by the wealthy, they remain common on just about every other colonized world.

Tundra Trak
This tracked vehicle was designed for use in the frozen wastes of Trisep. The Tundra Trak consists of a small driver's compartment, which is in turn connected to a passenger/cargo container. Both components are equipped with powerful chain drives that power four independently-suspended tracks. Although quite slow, they have proven valuable in traversing the often-stormy surface. Both compartments are heated, though functionality is paid more attention to than comfort.

Miscellaneous –

The diverse planetary systems present in Cerberus Sector allow for a wide variety of choices insofar as alternate forms of transportation are concerned. Boats and submarines are common on Nilea, while hovercraft see extensive use on the swampy world of Vale.

Fighter Sub
Not typically available on the civilian market, Sienar's Serpent-class fighter sub has seen some success with planetary security forces. Especially popular on water worlds throughout the galaxy, the Serpent is a fast, nimble, and deadly in the right hands. With swept-out stabilizers and an efficient magnetic induction drive, this fighter sub presents a lean profile and a very small target. Armed with torpedoes and a sub-aquatic particle beam system, the Serpent is a formidable foe.

Repulsorfoils
Designed much like conventional boats, repulsorfoils utilize a series of repulsorfield generators in order to lift themselves above the water. Similar to a hydrofoil, the use of repulsorfields reduce friction and increase speed. Powerful magnetic induction engines, coupled with this increased efficiency, make these vessels nearly as fast as their land-based counterparts. The KRW T1 is a typical example of a civilian repulsorfoil. Military models are often much faster, and are armed with torpedoes and blaster cannons.

Notes: The T1 can run without the repulsorfoil generator active, but does so as a normal speedboat. In this configuration, increase Maneuverability to 2D+1, but decrease Move to 28; 80 km/h.

Transport Submarine
A cheap method of transportation between the islands of Vale can be found in any one of a number of small submersible designs. Chalsyx Aquatics, a Quarren-owned company, manufactures several civilian sub designs. Their transport sub, an ungainly yet hardy craft, is one of the more common models available to the general public.

Turbofan Skiff
Turbofan skiffs are a common method of transportation across Vale's swampy surface. They are flat-bottomed boats powered by one or more large turbofans. Though stable in relatively calm conditions, they are unsuitable for use in the turbulent oceans of other planets. The Balard & Serlin TF-2A is a good example of a reasonably-priced skiff, though a number of other designs are available on Vale.

Starships –

Transport Shuttles
In systems such as Toscano, it is often convenient for residents to move freely between different resorts and casinos. Regularly-scheduled transports make trips between major attractions at reasonable prices, allowing tourists and residents alike the convenience of inter-system space travel. One such design is Corellian Engineering's StarBus, a transport shuttle that can accommodate nearly two-hundred beings in relative comfort. Unarmed and lacking a hyperdrive, these vehicles are common only in heavily-patrolled systems.
